Frequently asked questions

What size should a profile picture be?

Most platforms ask for at least 320 to 400 pixels square; YouTube recommends 800 × 800. They all show it much smaller, often around 110 pixels, so a simple, centred subject works best.

Why does my logo get cut off in a round profile picture?

Platforms crop the square into a circle, cutting the corners. Keep the logo inside the middle 70% or so with some padding, which the circle preview here makes easy to check.

Is my photo uploaded when I crop it?

No. Cropping and resizing happen in your browser with the canvas, and the files are saved straight to your device.
