Schema markup validator
Enter a page or paste JSON-LD to check its structured data. You get JSON syntax errors with line and column, missing required and recommended properties for Product, Article, LocalBusiness, Event, FAQ and other types, and wrong date, URL and price formats.
How to use the Schema Markup Validator
- 1Enter the page address, or switch to Paste code and paste JSON-LD or the page's HTML.
- 2Read each block: invalid JSON shows the line and column where parsing stopped.
- 3Fix the errors (required properties) first, then add the recommended ones that apply.
- 4Check the page again to confirm, then test key pages in Google's Rich Results Test.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my schema show no errors but no rich results?
Valid markup only makes a page eligible. Google chooses when to show rich results, some types are limited (FAQ, HowTo), and the page itself must be indexable and match the markup.
Does this validator check Microdata and RDFa?
No, it reads JSON-LD, the format Google recommends. If your theme uses Microdata, test it in Google's Rich Results Test or the Schema.org validator.
What is the difference between required and recommended properties?
Without required properties, Google can't use the markup for that rich result at all. Recommended properties are optional but add detail that can improve how the result looks.
