FAQ schema validator (FAQPage)
Check FAQPage structured data for errors: invalid JSON, a missing mainEntity, questions without a name, or answers without text. Paste your JSON-LD or check a live page, and see an FAQ summary plus every finding with a plain-English fix.
How to use the Schema Markup Validator
- 1Enter the page address, or switch to Paste code and paste JSON-LD or the page's HTML.
- 2Read each block: invalid JSON shows the line and column where parsing stopped.
- 3Fix the errors (required properties) first, then add the recommended ones that apply.
- 4Check the page again to confirm, then test key pages in Google's Rich Results Test.
Frequently asked questions
What does valid FAQ schema need?
A JSON-LD object with "@type": "FAQPage" and a mainEntity list, where each item is a Question with a name (the question) and an acceptedAnswer of type Answer with text. The same questions must be visible on the page.
Can a page have more than one FAQPage block?
Google expects one FAQPage per page. If your theme and a plugin both add one, merge the questions into a single block and remove the other.
Why isn't my valid FAQ schema showing in Google?
Since 2023 Google limits FAQ rich results mainly to well-known government and health sites, so most valid FAQ markup won't show as an expandable result. It's still read as structured data.
