Frequently asked questions
What font do memes use?
Classic memes use Impact: white capitals with a black outline, so the words read on any photo. The generator uses Impact when your device has it and a similar heavy font otherwise.
Can I use any picture for a meme?
Use photos you took or have the right to use. The templates here are empty layouts with no copyrighted meme pictures, and many famous meme images are owned by someone, so check before using them for a brand.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Your photo is drawn on a canvas in your browser and kept only in this browser's storage so the draft survives a reload. Nothing is sent to Join Postly.
How do I add text to a photo without a meme style?
Switch Text style for all to Plain, or select any text box and pick another font, turn the outline off and set your colour. Add a highlight behind the lines for a caption look.
