Discount calculator
Find the price after a percentage or money-off discount and how much you save. Stack several discounts, such as 20% off and then an extra 10%, to see the real total, work out the percentage off from two prices, and add sales tax or VAT after the discount.
How to use the Discount Calculator
- 1Enter the original price and the discount, as a percentage or an amount off.
- 2Add more discounts if they stack, such as a sale price plus a coupon.
- 3Optionally add VAT or sales tax to see the price you'll actually pay.
- 4Or switch to Find % off and enter the original and sale prices.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a discount?
Multiply the price by the discount and divide by 100 to get the saving, then subtract it. 25% off £80 saves £20, so you pay £60.
Is 20% off plus an extra 10% off the same as 30% off?
No. The extra 10% comes off the already reduced price: £100 becomes £80, then £72. That's 28% off in total, not 30%.
How do I work out the percentage off from the sale price?
Subtract the sale price from the original, divide by the original and multiply by 100. £80 down to £60 is £20 ÷ £80 × 100 = 25% off.
