Free quotation generator
Write a quotation for a job before you start: line items, discounts, tax, a valid-until date and lines for your client to sign and date when they accept. Download it as a PDF and turn it into an invoice later with the same details, saved in this browser.
How to use the Quotation Generator
- 1Enter your business details and who the quote is for in Prepared for.
- 2Add each item or stage of the job with its quantity, price and tax rate, and any discount.
- 3Set how long the price stays valid and add your terms in Notes, such as the deposit you need.
- 4Download the PDF and send it. When the client accepts, open the invoice generator to bill them.
Frequently asked questions
Is a quotation legally binding?
A quote is an offer. Once the client accepts it, it can form a contract at that price, which is why it should say what's included and how long it's valid. An estimate is usually treated as a best guess that can change.
How long should a quote be valid for?
30 days is common. Use a shorter time when your material prices change quickly, and say what happens after that date, for example that the price may be reviewed.
Can my client sign the quote?
Yes. The PDF has Accepted by and Date lines at the bottom. Your client can print and sign it, or add a signature image made with our free signature maker.
