Why convert PNG to JPG?
Photos saved as PNG are often huge. JPG makes them several times smaller, and some upload forms only accept JPG.
What happens to a transparent PNG when converted to JPG?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white. To keep a transparent background, convert to WebP instead.
What JPG quality is used when converting from PNG?
Quality 92, which keeps text and sharp edges clean. Lower it with the slider for smaller files.
