Resize an image for Instagram
Resize and crop any photo to Instagram's sizes: 1080 × 1350 portrait (4:5), which fills the most of the feed, 1080 × 1080 square or 1080 × 1920 for Stories and Reels covers. Drag to frame it and download a sharp JPEG, without uploading anything.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best image size for Instagram posts?
1080 × 1350 pixels (4:5 portrait). It takes up more of the screen in the feed than a square 1080 × 1080, and Instagram doesn't crop it.
Why does Instagram crop my photo?
Instagram feed posts must be between 1.91:1 (landscape) and 4:5 (portrait). Anything taller is cropped. Resizing to 4:5 yourself lets you choose what stays in.
Does resizing for Instagram lower the quality?
Not visibly when you start from a photo at least 1080 px wide; the JPEG is saved at the quality you choose (90 by default). Instagram compresses every upload anyway, so a clean 1080 px file looks best.
