Campaign URL builder for Google Analytics
Create Google Analytics campaign URLs with utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term and utm_id. Presets use the names GA4's default channel groups expect, so your campaigns land in the right report.
How to use the UTM Link Builder
- 1Paste the page address you want to send people to.
- 2Pick where you'll share it, such as an Instagram story or an email newsletter, to fill in source and medium.
- 3Add a campaign name and, if you like, content (which post or button) and term.
- 4Copy the link, or shorten it with Join Postly to share it neatly.
Frequently asked questions
What does utm_id do in GA4?
It's a campaign ID that links your tagged visits to imported cost data, so GA4 can show spend and return per campaign. Leave it empty if you don't import costs.
Why do my campaign visits show as Unassigned in GA4?
GA4 couldn't match the source and medium to a channel, often because of an unusual medium like "fb-post". Use standard values such as social, paid_social, email or cpc.
Do I need UTM tags on Google Ads links?
Not if auto-tagging (gclid) is on, which is the default; GA4 reads Google Ads data directly. Add UTM tags only when auto-tagging is off or you use another analytics tool.
