Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between title case and sentence case?

Title case capitalises the main words ("How to Write a Great Caption"), while sentence case only capitalises the first word and proper nouns ("How to write a great caption"). Sentence case reads more naturally in social posts.

Which words stay lowercase in title case?

Short articles, conjunctions and prepositions such as a, an, the, and, but, or, for, of, on, in, to and at, unless they are the first or last word. This follows common headline styles.

When should I use camelCase, snake_case or kebab-case?

camelCase is common for JavaScript variables, PascalCase for class names, snake_case for Python and database columns, CONSTANT_CASE for constants and kebab-case for URLs and CSS classes.
