Crop, rotate and flip an image

Crop a photo freely or to a social size such as 1:1, 4:5, 9:16 or 16:9, rotate it in quarter turns or straighten it by a few degrees, and flip it horizontally or vertically. Everything happens on a canvas in your browser, so your picture is never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Does the crop and rotate tool upload my photo?

No. The image is decoded and drawn on a canvas inside your browser, and the result is saved straight to your device. Nothing is sent to Join Postly or anyone else.

Which aspect ratio should I crop to for social media?

4:5 for Instagram and Facebook feed posts, 1:1 for square posts, 9:16 for Stories, Reels, TikTok and Shorts, 16:9 for YouTube thumbnails and 1.91:1 for link images on Facebook and LinkedIn.

Why do corners turn white or see-through when I straighten a photo?

Rotating by a few degrees leaves empty corners. Crop them away with the crop box, or keep them and fill them with a colour. PNG and WebP can also keep them transparent.

Does saving lower the quality of my image?

PNG is lossless. JPG and WebP are compressed: 90% quality looks identical to most people while keeping the file small. Use PNG for screenshots and graphics with text.
