Flip or mirror an image
Mirror a photo horizontally, like a selfie camera does, or flip it upside down vertically. It's handy for fixing mirrored selfies and text, or for making a picture face into your layout. Flipping is lossless and happens in your browser, so the photo stays private.
How to use the Crop, Rotate & Flip Image
- 1Choose a photo from your device. It is opened in your browser and stays on your device.
- 2Rotate in quarter turns, straighten with the slider or flip it horizontally or vertically.
- 3Pick an aspect preset (or Free) and drag the crop box or its corners to frame the picture.
- 4Choose the format and quality, then download the edited image.
Frequently asked questions
How do I fix a mirrored selfie?
Front cameras often save a mirror image, so text reads backwards. Tap Flip horizontal once and the photo shows the scene the way other people saw it.
What is the difference between flipping and rotating an image?
Flipping mirrors the picture across a line, so left becomes right (or top becomes bottom). Rotating turns it around its centre and never mirrors it.
Is it okay to flip photos that contain text or logos?
Flipped text and logos read backwards, which looks like a mistake. Flip only pictures without writing, or flip them back before you post.
