Changed your DNS and waiting for it to work? Compare what Cloudflare and Google, two of the biggest public resolvers, return for your A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS and TXT records side by side, with a plain answer on whether they agree.

How to use the DNS Lookup

  1. 1Enter a domain such as example.com, or a host name like www.example.com or _dmarc.example.com.
  2. 2Read each record type with its values and TTL, the time resolvers may cache it.
  3. 3Switch to Propagation to see whether Cloudflare and Google already return the same values after a change.
  4. 4Copy the records as zone-file lines, or share the result link.

Frequently asked questions

How long does DNS propagation take?

Usually minutes to a few hours: resolvers refresh a record once its old TTL runs out. Nameserver changes at the registry can take up to 48 hours, because the parent zone's TTLs are long.

Is this a worldwide DNS propagation test?

No, it compares two large public resolvers, Cloudflare and Google, which most people's devices or ISPs rely on. Tools that query dozens of locations exist, but they mostly reflect the same caching.

Why do Cloudflare and Google show different answers?

One of them still has the old record cached until its TTL runs out, or your domain uses geo-based DNS that answers by location. Wait for the TTL and check again.
