Frequently asked questions
Why does Instagram remove my line breaks?
Instagram often trims empty lines and spaces at the end of lines, especially when a line ends with an emoji or a space. A line with an invisible character isn't empty, so it is kept.
Which invisible character is used for the line breaks?
The braille blank (U+2800), which shows as empty space on every device. You can switch to a single dot if you prefer a visible spacer.
Do the line breaks work in an Instagram bio too?
Yes. Copy the result into the bio field in the Instagram app. The bio is limited to 150 characters, and each spacer character counts as one.
