LinkedIn text formatter: bold, italic and lists
LinkedIn posts have no formatting toolbar. Write your post here to make a bold hook or heading, italic emphasis and tidy bullet lists that paste straight into LinkedIn with the line breaks intact.
How to use the Bold & Italic Text Formatter
- 1Type or paste your text. Every style updates below as you type.
- 2Tap Copy next to the style you want, then paste it into your post or bio.
- 3Use the Line breaks tab to keep blank lines in Instagram captions.
- 4Read the accessibility note: use fancy text for a word or a heading, not whole posts.
Frequently asked questions
Does bold text affect LinkedIn reach?
There's no evidence that LinkedIn ranks styled text differently. Bold helps people notice your hook in the feed, but search on LinkedIn may not match styled words, so keep keywords in plain text.
Do bold Unicode letters count as one character on LinkedIn?
Yes. Each styled letter is one character, so it counts the same as a normal letter against LinkedIn's 3,000-character limit. About the first 210 characters show before "see more".
How do I make a bullet list in a LinkedIn post?
Put each point on its own line and tap Make list: the tool adds a bullet (•) to each line so the list keeps its shape when you paste it into LinkedIn.
