SERP snippet preview tool
Type a title and meta description to see how they could look in Google on desktop and mobile. Widths are estimated in pixels, so you can see exactly where Google is likely to cut them off, before you publish.
How to use the Meta Tags Analyzer
- 1Enter the address of the page you want to check, such as yoursite.com/pricing.
- 2Read the checks: each tag is marked good, worth improving or missing, with a short fix.
- 3Look at the Google preview. Edit the title and description there to try new wording before you change your site.
- 4Copy the share link to send the report to a colleague or client.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Google measure titles in pixels instead of characters?
Search results have a fixed width, so what fits depends on the letters: "iiii" takes far less space than "WWWW". Pixel estimates predict truncation better than a character count.
How accurate is the snippet preview?
It uses Arial font widths at Google's text sizes, which is close for most Latin text. Google changes its layout from time to time and may show a different title or description than yours.
Does the preview show the URL as Google would?
Yes, it shows the site name and a breadcrumb-style path built from the URL you enter, the way Google displays most results today.
