Split a PDF into separate files
Cut one PDF into several: by page ranges like 1-3, 4-8, every few pages, or one file per page. Or pull a handful of pages out into a new PDF. Several files download together as a ZIP or one by one, and the PDF never leaves your browser.
How to use the Split PDF
- 1Drop the PDF you want to split.
- 2Choose how: by ranges, every N pages, every page, or extract pages.
- 3Type the ranges or pages, such as 1-3, 4-8, 9- (the dash at the end means "to the last page").
- 4Tap Split: one file downloads directly, several come as a ZIP unless you turn that off.
Frequently asked questions
How do I write page ranges for splitting?
Separate ranges with commas: "1-3, 4-6, 7-" makes three files, pages 1 to 3, 4 to 6, and 7 to the end. A single number such as "5" makes a one-page file.
Can I split a PDF into single pages?
Yes. Choose Every page and each page becomes its own PDF, downloaded together in one ZIP file (or one by one if you untick the ZIP option).
Does splitting a PDF make the pages smaller in quality?
No. Pages are copied exactly; nothing is re-compressed. Each new file only contains what its pages use, so the files are often smaller than the original.
