Is this site WordPress? WordPress checker
Find out if a website is built with WordPress. The checker looks for WordPress traces in the page's HTML and headers (wp-content paths, the generator tag, the REST API link) and shows the evidence, plus page builders such as Elementor, WooCommerce and SEO plugins it spots.
How to use the Website Technology Checker
- 1Enter the website's address, such as example.com.
- 2See the main platform first, such as WordPress, Shopify or Wix, with its version when the site shows it.
- 3Browse every technology by category, each with the clue we found it from.
- 4Copy the list or share the result link.
Frequently asked questions
How can you tell if a site uses WordPress?
WordPress leaves traces: file paths with /wp-content/ or /wp-includes/, a generator meta tag, a wp-json API link in the headers and wordpress_ cookies. The checker shows which of these it found.
Can the checker see which WordPress theme a site uses?
It shows theme-related traces it finds in the HTML, such as Divi or a page builder, and the evidence path. Many themes are custom or renamed, so the exact theme isn't always visible.
Why does the checker say a WordPress site isn't WordPress?
Some sites hide WordPress with security plugins, serve a cached static copy, or use WordPress only as a headless back end behind another front end. In those cases the public page has no WordPress traces to find.
