How to use the Giveaway Comment Picker
- 1Open your giveaway post, select all the comments and copy them (tips for each platform are in the help box).
- 2Paste them into the picker. It finds each commenter's handle, mentions and text, and shows how many entries it read.
- 3Set the rules: one entry per person, minimum tagged friends, a required keyword or hashtag, and handles to exclude such as your own.
- 4Draw. Winners are revealed one by one with the seed and an audit of what was counted and removed, so you can show the draw was fair.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to connect my Instagram account?
No. You paste the comments you copied from the post, so the picker never needs your login or any app permission. Nothing is sent to Instagram or to Join Postly.
Can I require entrants to tag two friends?
Yes. Set the minimum mentions to 2 and only comments that tag at least two other accounts count. Tagging your own account or the entrant tagging themselves doesn't count.
What are Instagram's rules for running a giveaway?
Instagram asks you to state that the promotion isn't sponsored or endorsed by Instagram, publish your own official rules and follow local laws. Don't ask people to tag content inaccurately.
