LinkedIn link preview checker
See how your link will look in a LinkedIn post before you publish it. The checker reads the page's Open Graph tags, measures the image against LinkedIn's 1200×627 size, and shows when LinkedIn would fall back to a small thumbnail.
How to use the Open Graph & Social Preview Checker
- 1Enter the address of the page you want to share, such as yoursite.com/blog/new-post.
- 2Switch between Facebook, LinkedIn, X and WhatsApp to see each link card and its warnings.
- 3Edit the title, description or image URL to try fixes; the previews update as you type.
- 4Copy the corrected tags into your page's head, then schedule the post with Join Postly.
Frequently asked questions
What image size does LinkedIn use for link previews?
1200×627 pixels gives the large preview. Images narrower than about 400 pixels are shown as a small thumbnail beside the title instead.
How do I refresh a LinkedIn link preview?
Paste the URL into LinkedIn's Post Inspector, which fetches the page again and updates the cached preview. LinkedIn otherwise keeps a preview for about seven days.
Does LinkedIn show the og:description?
Rarely: LinkedIn shows mainly the image, title and domain. Put the important message in og:title and the image, and keep the title under about 70 characters.
