Open Graph checker and social link preview

Enter a page to see how its link card looks on Facebook, LinkedIn, X and WhatsApp before you share it. The checker reads the Open Graph and Twitter tags, measures the image, flags what's missing or too small, and gives you fixed tags to paste.

How to use the Open Graph & Social Preview Checker

  1. 1Enter the address of the page you want to share, such as yoursite.com/blog/new-post.
  2. 2Switch between Facebook, LinkedIn, X and WhatsApp to see each link card and its warnings.
  3. 3Edit the title, description or image URL to try fixes; the previews update as you type.
  4. 4Copy the corrected tags into your page's head, then schedule the post with Join Postly.

Frequently asked questions

What are Open Graph tags?

Meta tags in a page's head, such as og:title, og:description and og:image, that tell Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and most other apps what title, text and picture to show when someone shares the link.

What size should an og:image be?

1200×630 pixels (a 1.91:1 ratio) works on every network. Keep it under about 300 KB so WhatsApp shows it, use JPG or PNG with an https:// URL, and keep important text away from the edges because feeds crop slightly.

Why does Facebook still show my old preview?

Facebook caches link previews. After you fix the tags, paste the URL into Facebook's Sharing Debugger and click Scrape Again. LinkedIn's Post Inspector does the same for LinkedIn.

Why are my Open Graph tags not detected?

The tags must be in the HTML the server sends. If a JavaScript framework adds them after the page loads, social networks don't see them. Also check that the page isn't behind a login or blocked for bots.
