SPF record checker for Google Workspace
Check that your domain's SPF record is set up for Google Workspace (Gmail for business): it must include _spf.google.com and end in ~all or -all, in a single record with no more than 10 lookups. If it isn't right, copy the corrected record.
How to use the Email Deliverability Checker
- 1Enter the domain you send email from (or paste an email address).
- 2Read the checks: each one is good, worth improving or a problem to fix, with the exact change to make.
- 3Compare the SPF, DMARC and DKIM records shown with what your email provider asks for.
- 4Make the changes in your DNS settings, wait a few minutes and check again.
Frequently asked questions
What SPF record does Google Workspace need?
A single TXT record on your domain containing include:_spf.google.com, for example "v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all". If other services send email for you, add their include: entries to the same record.
Do I need DKIM and DMARC as well as SPF for Gmail?
Yes. Since 2024 Gmail and Yahoo require bulk senders to have SPF, DKIM and DMARC, and they help every sender reach the inbox. Turn on DKIM in the Google Admin console (Apps › Gmail › Authenticate email).
Should a Google Workspace SPF record end in ~all or -all?
Google recommends ~all (soft fail). Move to -all only when you're sure every service that sends email for your domain is listed in the record.
